ST. CLAIR COLLEGE
St. Clair College Alumni and WIFF Partner for new custom cinema screen at Chrysler Theatre

October 17, 2025

A new custom-made high performance cinema screen at St. Clair College's Chrysler Theatre will be front and centre at this year's Windsor International Film Festival.

WIFF and St. Clair College's Alumni Association have partnered to purchase the new screen, which will improve the viewing experience with a more vivid picture and crisp colouring.

"A new screen captures more colour, therefore creating more engagement with the audience," said Joe D'Angela, the Senior Director of St. Clair College's Advancement Office and Campus Partnerships.

The screen was manufactured by Strong MDI Screens in Quebec, which also produces IMAX screens for use across Canada.

It will replace the downtown theatre's existing screen, which is about 15 years old.

"Although we do have a screen, it's aged," said D'Angela. "We want to really present to everybody in attendance a better program, better screen, and a better experience here.

"It's going to change the whole guest experience - not just at WIFF, but year-round," D'Angela added.
The addition comes just in time for the Windsor Internation Film Festival.

"Saints Nation positively impacts all corners of our community. A gorgeous, state-of-the-art cinema screen will now be enjoyed by WIFF audiences for years to come at the Chrysler," said Vincent Georgie, the executive director of WIFF. "St. Clair College and WIFF have a true and natural partnership that we value deeply."

The screen will complement a recently upgraded Dolby sound system.

"SCC is deeply invested in our community, and thanks to the many successes of Saints everywhere. WIFF is a nationally recognized and high-profile phenomenon that is not only a signature event at our beautiful Chrysler Theatre at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts but is also enjoyed by thousands of our students and alumni both in the audience, volunteering, and behind-the-scenes at WIFF," said Michael Silvaggi, President of St. Clair College. "This gorgeous new custom-made cinema screen is one of many new ways that SCC & WIFF will be working ever so closely together now and in the future."

The 2025 festival will run from Thursday, Oct. 23 to Sunday, Nov. 2. The 2025 festival is proudly presented by the Toldo Foundation.
