RDP showcases impactful student experiences at Fall 2025 Open House

Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) is ready to welcome prospective students and their families to the post-secondary institution's Fall 2025 Open House on Saturday, October 25 from 9 am to 2 pm. This signature event invites attendees to discover what makes RDP a leading choice for post-secondary learners.

At Red Deer Polytechnic, through applied education, real-world research and deep connections with industry, the post-secondary institution is shaping Alberta's future one learner, one idea, one breakthrough at a time.

This interactive Open House is held on RDP's main campus (located at 100 Donald Boulevard) to provide opportunities for attendees to learn more about the Polytechnic's range of industry-ready programming and student services. From academic advising to counseling, guests will gain insight into the vast supports available throughout their educational journey.

"We're looking forward to welcoming future students and their families to Red Deer Polytechnic's Fall 2025 Open House," says Lindsay Engel, Vice President of Academic and Student Experience. "It's a great opportunity to explore our programs, meet instructors and see how RDP's hands-on learning and applied research experiences prepare graduates to step confidently into Alberta's evolving workforce."

Throughout the day, prospective learners can interact with Red Deer Polytechnic's faculty and staff to learn more about specific programs and services. Individuals can attend demonstrations, participate in skilled trades activities and tour the Polytechnic's main campus, including Residences. There will also be sessions about funding and scholarships. A complimentary lunch will be provided for guests in the FarSide Bar & Grill, beginning at 11 am (while supplies last).

RDP's academic offerings span more than 80 programs of a variety of credentials, including degrees, diplomas, certificates and apprenticeships -- each designed to meet the changing needs of Alberta's industries and communities. Learners can also pursue professional development through the Division of Continuing Education and Corporate Training, which provides flexible options for career advancement.

In Fall 2025 Term, the first cohorts of learners began their studies in five new programs: Advanced Accounting Diploma, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics Diploma, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics Post-Baccalaureate Certificate, Diagnostic Medical Sonography Diploma and Network Administration Diploma.

As one of Canada's Top 50 Research Polytechnics and Colleges, RDP continues to strengthen its applied research capacity across four key areas: Advanced Manufacturing, Health Care and Health Technology, Energy Innovation and Social Innovation. These initiatives create meaningful opportunities for students, faculty and industry partners to collaborate on solutions to real-world challenges.

At Fall 2025 Open House, prospective students will be able to submit a complimentary application to attend Red Deer Polytechnic. Support with the application process will be provided in RDP's Library from 9 am to 2 pm. Red Deer Polytechnic is currently accepting applications for Winter 2026 Term, Spring 2026 Term, Summer 2026 Term and Fall 2026 Term.
