The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) has announced Conestoga will host the 2026 CCAA Women's Soccer National Championship next November after a successful bid to hold the annual event at the Fountain Street Soccer Complex in Cambridge.
"Conestoga College is committed to delivering an outstanding championship that celebrates athletic excellence while engaging our community," said Andrew Bates, director, Sports & Recreation at Conestoga and tournament chair. "We are proud to showcase our facilities, staff and student-athletes on the national stage."
Opened in 2024, the City of Cambridge's outdoor soccer complex at the corner of Linden Drive and Fountain Street was made possible through a partnership with Conestoga. The complex features seven fields, including four natural turf and three synthetic turf fields, as well as a 6,500-square-foot service building. The college contributed nearly $2 million towards the complex to provide field conversions and upgrades, improved benches and audience seating, the installation of a digital scoreboard, and other related amenities. The state-of-the-art complex is home to the Conestoga Condors women's and men's soccer and rugby programs.
The 2026 CCAA Women's Soccer National Championship will bring together the top eight collegiate programs from across the country to compete from November 11-14, 2026. The Condors have a strong tradition of athletic achievement, including recent provincial and national success in men's soccer. This will mark the first time Conestoga hosts a CCAA Women's Soccer National Championship.
"Conestoga College will be an excellent host for this event," said Marlene Ford, CCAA National Women's Soccer Convenor. "Their commitment to the student-athlete experience, combined with the quality of the facilities and community support, will ensure a memorable championship for all involved."
