The École Canadienne de Tunis (ECT) and Collège Boréal held their first joint graduation ceremony today, celebrating the inaugural cohort of students who benefited from the combined expertise of both institutions. Collège Boréal's Computer Technical Support program - delivered through the Hub régional ECT pour le développement des compétences en Technologies de l'Information - now has six new graduates thanks to an offshore program agreement signed in 2022 between ECT and Collège Boréal.
The ceremony underscored the growing importance of this program both in Tunisia and internationally. Several dignitaries attended, including representatives from the Embassy of Canada to Tunisia; the President and CEO of the École Canadienne de Tunis, Chamseddine Ouerdiane; and the President of Collège Boréal, Daniel Giroux.
Objectives of the Collaboration Between ECT and Collège Boréal
The partnership between ECT and Collège Boréal is built on an innovative approach to knowledge transfer and technical support, designed to establish a quality-assurance framework aligned with international standards. Along with giving ECT graduates a strong competitive advantage, their newly acquired skills help employers in Tunisia and abroad access a highly qualified workforce and enhance their appeal to foreign partners working in the digital and innovation sectors.
Graduates of this first cohort have already chosen to continue their Canadian post-secondary studies by enrolling in Collège Boréal's Computer Systems Technician program next semester, also offered at the Hub régional ECT.
Collège Boréal is especially proud of its new graduates in Tunisia, who seized the opportunity to earn a recognized Canadian credential through this innovative partnership with the École Canadienne de Tunis. Beyond the concrete skills this credential represents, their hard work and commitment to advanced studies are being rewarded today and point to the bright future ahead of them. Congratulations!
Daniel Giroux, President, Collège Boréal
