Fleming College is expanding access to its established Practical Nursing (PN) program with the launch of a new Hy-Flex delivery option, giving students greater learning flexibility while maintaining the high-quality clinical training the program is known for.
The Hy-Flex delivery model helps learners balance education, employment, and life commitments by allowing students to complete coursework online and choose where they gain practical experience. Students can choose to build their practical skills a vital component of the Practical Nursing program through intensive weekend labs at Fleming's state-of-the-art facilities on campus or through immersive clinical placements close to home.
"Fleming College remains at the forefront of progressive nursing education and training," says Nick Stone, Associate Vice President, Health. "Our Hy-Flex delivery option expands access to nursing education in Ontario by removing geographical barriers, while maintaining the necessary hands-on training that is essential to learning correct patient care practices."
Fleming's Practical Nursing program prepares graduates to work as essential members of healthcare teams in hospitals, long-term care homes, community health agencies, and other clinical settings. The program holds Category 1 approval from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), meeting the academic requirements for graduates to be eligible to write the registration exam to become a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).
The Practical Nursing program, offered in full-time, part-time, and Hy-Flex delivery formats, is currently accepting applications for its May 2026 intake.
