NORTH ISLAND COLLEGE
Immediate support for NIC Students: NIC Foundation's Future 50 Legacy Match campaign

February 10, 2026

The North Island College Foundation (NICF) is helping students start the year with real, immediate impact through its Future 50 Legacy Match campaign. Every new or updated legacy promise releases $1,000 from a $50,000 matching fund, providing instant support for awards and emergency assistance.

For students like Zoey Pimble, an LPN-BScN student, this timely support can be transformative.

"I am sincerely grateful for the financial award I received. It covered bills and an unexpected dental emergency, easing my stress and allowing me to focus on my studies with peace of mind," Pimble explained.

Legacy gifts, made through wills, securities or other assets, create lasting support for NIC students for generations to come. By joining the campaign today, donors can make a meaningful impact, while also ensuring future students have the resources they need to succeed.

Dain Phillips, a Bachelor of Business Administration Management student, has felt the strain of balancing studies and living expenses. However, the campaign's instant support has given Phillips breathing room to focus on his education.

"As a hardworking student with a disability, I often find it difficult to afford my tuition and living expenses without risking burnout," Phillips said. "This immediate award takes a huge weight off my shoulders and allows me to focus on my studies."

The campaign is driven by two cornerstone contributions of $25,000 each from Ida and Ted Sauvé and Coastal Community Credit Union (CCCU). Their generosity has inspired others to join the campaign, and their support has made it possible for the NIC Foundation to release $1,000 for every promise.

"I am truly grateful for this award and the support behind it," Pimble shared. "It has made a difference in my education and my life stressors that comes with it, and it motivates me to continue working hard."

With three months remaining in the campaign, there is still time to double your impact and help shape a future where every NIC student has the opportunity to succeed.
