ST. LAWRENCE COLLEGE
President and CEO of SLC Named New Chair of OREWIN

February 12, 2026

The Ontario Regional Economic & Workforce Innovation Network (OREWIN) is pleased to announce that Glenn Vollebregt, President and CEO of St. Lawrence College, has been named the organization's new Chair. Glenn will lead the OREWIN coalition of small, northern, and rural colleges as they work together to Protect Ontario by strengthening the provincial workforce and economy.

Glenn assumed this new role on February 2, 2026, and is preceded by George Burton, former President and CEO of Canadore College in North Bay, who held the role since April 2025 when OREWIN was established.

"Colleges are the backbone of our communities, training the skilled workforce that keeps Ontario's small and rural regions thriving," Glenn said. "Through OREWIN, we are reaffirming our commitment to providing our graduates with the skills and training needed to build careers close to home in many sectors, including skilled trades, health care, green energy, and more. Together, we're equipping local talent to drive innovation, support regional businesses, and strengthen the industries that sustain our communities. I look forward to my new role and continuing this important work."

OREWIN colleges are pillars of their communities and hubs for industry collaboration, career-ready training, and market-driven innovation. Together, OREWIN colleges are partners in protecting Ontario against economic and industry disruption and will advance Ontario's tariff response plan. They will leverage their distinct industry, education, and community networks to deliver on Ontario's workforce and infrastructure commitments, including Ontario's $500 million Critical Minerals Processing Fund, the $200+ billion Plan to Build, and $1.8 billion Primary Care Action Plan.

"I'm pleased to welcome Glenn as OREWIN's new Chair at this pivotal moment for our organization," said George Burton, former President and CEO of Canadore College in North Bay and founding OREWIN Chair. "Colleges are anchors in Ontario's small, northern, and rural communities. A unified voice is essential to advancing the shared priorities of our members and I'm excited to see the impact OREWIN will deliver in the years ahead."
