OKANAGAN COLLEGE
Camp OC serves up summer fun and learning across the Okanagan

February 25, 2026

Camp OC is back for another summer of learning and fun with creative, hands-on and high-energy camps at Okanagan College campuses across the region. Designed for children and youth in grades 1-12, Camp OC offers week-long day camps and high school credit programs in a safe, supportive environment that families have come to trust.

Running from July through August at Okanagan College campuses in Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon and Salmon Arm, Camp OC invites young learners to explore a wide range of interests -- from coding to cooking, painting to 3D printing, building robots to building a custom longboard and everything in between. Camp offerings vary between campuses, but each camp is led by experienced instructors and designed to help kids explore their creativity, build confidence and develop friendships while discovering what they enjoy most.

"Camp OC is about so much more than keeping kids busy in the summer," said Amanda Hromadnik, Camp OC coordinator. "It's about giving them meaningful, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and help them see what they're capable of. We hear year after year how much these camps matter to families, and that's something we're so proud of."

Kristi Avery, whose son attended six weeks of Camp OC in 2025, said the program stood out for its structure, variety and care.

"Camp OC offered some of the most rewarding and educational programs we've experienced to date," Avery shared. "The camps were well organized and perfectly executed. As a working parent, finding engaging, affordable programs that get kids off screens in the summer is not easy, but Camp OC delivered on all of that and more."

She credits the program's attention to detail and quality experiences for having a lasting impression. "From real robotics and computer programming to hands-on projects and fun extras, it felt like the camp organizers asked themselves, How do we make this exceptional?' And then they did," added Avery.

For older youth, Camp OC also offers opportunities to experience learning on a post-secondary campus, introducing them to labs, shops and classrooms while exploring interests that can inspire their future studies and careers. For many families, Camp OC has become a trusted summer tradition - with some camps, particularly in Kelowna, filling quickly each year.

Students entering grades 10 - 12 who are interested in earning high school credit and volunteer hours can apply to the Leadership in Action program with Camp OC. Participants build skills in leadership fundamentals, communication, conflict resolution and teamwork, then apply them in real camp and classroom activities with guided feedback.

The full Camp OC 2026 schedule will be available for viewing in late February, with registration opening on March 3 (all Penticton, Vernon and Salmon Arm camps) and March 4 and 5 (Kelowna camps). Families are encouraged to register early to secure preferred camps.
