COLLÈGE BORÉAL
Education is our goal: CSC Nouvelon and Collège Boréal partner to support young Francophone hockey enthusiasts

March 12, 2026
The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon and Collège Boréal have renewed their partnership created to enhance the six Hockey Canada Skills Academy programs offered in CSC Nouvelon schools.

To highlight this ongoing collaboration, more than one hundred students from grades 7 to 12 enrolled in these programs gathered at Collège Boréal in Sudbury on March 4, 2026.

Throughout this exploration day, students took part in various interactive workshops related to the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist Assistant, Massage Therapy, and Physical Activity and Health Promotion programs offered at Collège Boréal. They also had the opportunity to further develop their skills during an indoor hockey game.

The activity brought together students from Collège Notre-Dame (Sudbury), École secondaire catholique l'Horizon (Val Caron), École Notre-Dame de la Merci (Coniston), École St-Augustin (Garson), École St-Paul (Lively), École St-Denis (Sudbury), École Jean-Paul II (Val Caron), École catholique Notre-Place (Val Thérèse), École catholique Félix-Ricard (Sudbury) and École St-Pierre (Sudbury).

This partnership promotes collaboration between the two partners in the areas of health promotion, physical conditioning and sports by providing girls and boys opportunities for educational and athletic development within CSC Nouvelon's hockey programs.

Our ongoing collaboration with Collège Boréal adds an undeniable value to CSC Nouvelon hockey programs. In addition to authentic experiences on the ice and at school, our students have the chance to explore various sport-related fields thanks to the programming offered by Boréal. We are proud to provide young Francophone hockey enthusiasts experiential learning opportunities that enrich their educational journey in our French language Catholic schools.
Tom Michaud, Director of Education at CSC Nouvelon.

Collège Boréal is proud to share the proven track record of its health programs with students from the Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon, as well as highlight their meaningful impact in sports. Renewing this agreement helps foster healthy lifestyle habits among youth, encourages participation in our national winter sport, and strengthens a sense of belonging to our region's Francophone community.
Daniel Giroux, President of Collège Boréal.

CSC Nouvelon and Collège Boréal began their partnership in support of CSC Nouvelon's hockey programs during the 2024-2025 school year.
