GEORGE BROWN POLYTECHNIC
Global Leadership Accelerator program launches at George Brown for Filipino professionals in the AI era

April 8, 2026

George Brown Polytechnic (GBP) is launching a new global leadership initiative to equip Filipino professionals with the skills and confidence to lead in an increasingly AI-driven economy. Developed in partnership with the Geese Project, the Leadership Accelerator Program responds to the rising demand for leaders who can navigate technological change while maintaining strong human-centred leadership practices.

Designed for working professionals in Canada, the Philippines, and the global Filipino diaspora, the eight-week program combines practical leadership development with cultural identity and global workforce readiness. Delivered entirely online, the program provides a flexible and accessible learning experience for participants worldwide.

Leadership development for a changing workplace

As artificial intelligence continues to transform how work is done, organizations are seeking leaders who can blend technical knowledge with vital human skills. The GP Leadership Accelerator Program highlights communication, adaptability, decision-making, and leadership in complex, technology-enabled settings skills that are increasingly important across sectors.

Beginning May 2, 2026, participants will complete 40 hours of learning through a combination of live virtual sessions and self-paced modules. After finishing, learners will receive a certificate from GBP, acknowledging their leadership growth and readiness to lead in a modern, AI-influenced workplace.

"As AI reshapes the workplace, there is a growing need for leaders who combine technical awareness with strong human-centred skills," said Dr. Colin Simpson, Dean, Centre for Continuous Learning and Professional Studies at George Brown Polytechnic. "This program reflects George Brown's commitment to practical, accessible education that prepares learners to succeed in today's workforce."

Centring culture in global leadership

A key feature of the program is its focus on cultural identity and the lived experiences of Filipino professionals. Using a framework created by the Geese Project, participants examine leadership through the perspectives of collaboration, shared success, and collective resilience values deeply embedded in Filipino culture and increasingly appreciated in global organizations.

"This program is more than a course, it is a movement," said Richard Caballero, Founder of the Geese Project. "We are redefining what it means to be a leader in today's world by recognizing that leadership is deeply shaped by culture. Filipino leaders have inherent strengths that the AI era demands, including relationship building, resilience, integrity, and adaptability."

Accessible, global, and fully online

Offered through GBP's Centre for Continuous Learning and Professional Studies, the Leadership Accelerator Program is delivered entirely online, enabling participation across time zones and geographies. The flexible format allows professionals to balance learning with work and personal commitments while engaging with a global community of peers.
