Mohawk College skilled trades and technology students excelled in the Skills Ontario 2026 post-secondary competition earlier this week, collecting 12 medals.
The Skills Ontario Competition offers a unique opportunity for top students from colleges across the province to demonstrate their mastery of their skills in their field. Some of the top individuals and team will go on to compete at the national Skills Canada competition, which will be hosted in Toronto, May 28 & 29.
This year, the Mohawk College team included 58 competitors in 27 different area of competition. Thirteen competitors took home a total of 12 medals, including one team and ten individual medals.
The college was also recognized with the Gene Haas Foundation Manufacturing Award at the closing ceremonies. This award, including $5000 designated for student scholarships in the manufacturing programs, recognizes the post-secondary institution that shows the greatest dedication to promoting the manufacturing sector.
Mohawk College emerged as the top-ranking institution in overall competition scores in manufacturing, demonstrating the college's commitment to providing exceptional education and support to our students.
