Cambrian College Honours Employees at Annual Rendez-Vous Celebration

May 12, 2026

It is not just students graduating from Cambrian College this spring: some employees are too.

Every year at its Rendez-Vous event, Cambrian celebrates employees who are retiring, have reached a milestone in years of employment, or have made outstanding contributions to the college community.

At its annual Rendez-Vous event, Cambrian College celebrated this year's retirees, long-serving employees, and outstanding contributions by individual employees through the President's Awards for Excellence. This year, ten employees are retiring from Cambrian College, with another eleven employees celebrating at least 20 years of service.

"Rendez-Vous is one of our favourite events," says Alison De Luisa, Vice-President of Human Resources, Student Services and International. "It is an opportunity to come together and celebrate the people who make Cambrian such a special place. Our employees are at the heart of everything we do. Their dedication ensures that our students have an exceptional experience both inside and outside the classroom."

A highlight of the event is the presentation of the President's Awards for Excellence, recognizing individuals and teams who have made exceptional contributions to Cambrian College. This year's recipients include:

  • Kelly McDonald - Outstanding Service by an Individual. As Manager of Student and Staff Systems, Kelly led the successful launch of Cambrian's new myCambrian intranet, guiding the initiative from concept through implementation while supporting users across the college and ensuring a seamless transition to one of Cambrian's most significant digital platforms.
  • Jade Found - Support Staff category. A graphic designer in the Teaching and Learning Innovation Hub, Jade is a leader in accessible and inclusive design, supporting both faculty and students while advancing innovation and equity across the college.
  • Nathan Abourbih - Faculty category. A professor and program coordinator in the School of Information Technology, Nathan brings real-world expertise into the classroom, champions AI literacy, and fosters strong connections between students and industry.
  • Pamela Teed - Administration category. As Chair of the School of Information Technology and Creative Industries, Pamela is recognized for her strategic leadership, commitment to student and faculty success, and ability to drive innovation and collaboration across programs.
  • Kristi Haddad & Lindsay Fricker - Team category. Learning Strategists in the Learning Centre, Kristi and Lindsay are being honoured for their leadership in creating the Breakfast Club, supporting student success through a unique blend of academic skill-building and community connection.

"This year's recipients represent the very best of Cambrian," says President Kristine Morrissey. "Their leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success are what continue to move our college forward. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our long-serving employees and retirees, who have helped shape Cambrian into the strong and vibrant institution it is today."

Cambrian is now preparing for the celebration of its graduating students. Convocation ceremonies are scheduled for the week of June 8 at the main Barry Downe campus. For information about convocation, visit https://cambriancollege.ca/convocation.
