SASKATCHEWAN POLYTECHNIC
Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Regina campus graduates ready to lead with real-world skills

June 3, 2026

More than 1,550 students are celebrating a major milestone as they graduate from Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

The convocation ceremony celebrates the Regina campus class of 2026 and honours outstanding award recipients. Sask Polytech graduates are equipped to step into their fields and help drive the province's growing economy. Through hands-on, applied learning, they have developed the skills, judgment and accountability to act with confidence, adapt to complexity and make a meaningful difference on the job from day one.

"It is an honour to celebrate our Regina Campus graduating class of 2026, each of them leaders in their own way" says Dr. Larry Rosia, Sask Polytech president and CEO. "Leadership in today's world is about contribution. It's about using what you have to make a tangible difference and it shows up in how you work, in the standards you maintain when no one is checking, and in the results that others can trust. Employers can count on our polytech graduates to show up as leaders."

Congratulations to the Regina campus award recipients.

Tkeyae Reader, a graduate of the Practical Nursing program, received the Outstanding Citizenship Award. Reader has played an important role in fundraising for the Ross Payant Nursing Home patio project in Assiniboia, helping enhance the outdoor space for long-term care residents. Reader believes strong communities are built through collective effort and a willingness to contribute wherever help is needed. She is highly respected by staff in clinical placements, and approaches patient interactions with empathy and maturity.

Mayank Rameshbhai Ramani, a Cyber Security graduate and Presley Windigo, a Culinary Arts graduate, both received Reconciliation in Action Awards.

Rameshbhai Ramani promotes data protection, security awareness and the ethical use of technology, emphasizing trust, accountability and responsibility. He founded the Speak Easy Club, to create meaningful opportunities for dialogue and learning, encouraging respectful conversations, knowledge sharing and community engagement. He approaches reconciliation with professionalism, humility and a genuine willingness to listen and learn.

Windigo has worked hard over time to learn about her Indigenous culture, including the journey her own family has gone through and continues to navigate in their day-to-day lives.  From teaching classmates how to make Bannock, to helping instructors with pronunciations and grammar, Presley's leadership shows up as quiet humility, compassion and respect. Beyond the classroom, she has helped introduce beading to youth at her church and helps out at her urban band office.

Krizel Joy Cabbigat is the recipient of the Governor General's Academic Bronze Medal for the highest average in the Regina campus Adult 12 program.

Jorda Thomas, a graduate of the Graphic Communications program, is the recipient of the Governor General's Academic Collegiate Bronze Medal for the highest average for a diploma at the Regina campus.

Nkechi Ollor Obarilomate, a graduate of the Bachelor of Applied Management, is the recipient of the Governor General's Academic Silver Undergraduate Medal for the highest average at the undergraduate level.

Sask Polytech awarded an honorary degree in Applied Studies to Leon Friesen, founder and past president of Westridge Construction and a journeyperson carpenter.

More than 5,230 students are eligible to graduate across all four campuses this spring. Sask Polytech prepares work-ready graduates to meet Saskatchewan's labour market demands. Sask Polytech currently has a 93 per cent graduate employment rate and 90 per cent Indigenous graduate employment rate.

The convocation ceremonies are broadcast live so graduates, family, friends and the polytechnic community who are unable to attend in-person can celebrate. To view the livestream or previously recorded video please visit saskpolytech.ca/convocation.
