The Department of Education is introducing a new benefit under the Financial Assistance for Nunavut Students program (FANS) this autumnfor Inuit students enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Nunavut Inuit Study Grant benefits include:
- Transitional allowance.
- Holiday travel.
- School supply and improvement of living situation allowance.
- Furniture allowance.
- Mandatory exam fees.
- Tutoring allowance.
- Recreation/activity allowance.
- Student health and wellness allowance.
- Transitional support person.
The department is committed to improving the program with further enhancements, including non-financial student support.
