During a ceremony held on December 18th at Aéroport Exécutif de Gatineau-Ottawa, Cégep Heritage College and International Pilot Academy (IPA) announced a partnership to launch a new English Flight Training Program, starting in January 2018.

The program will allow Canadian and international students to register to one of the various programs offered by IPA and obtain the corresponding certification from Transport Canada. International Pilot Academy will be responsible for the Flight School and Cégep Heritage College for the Ground School.

The City of Gatineau through ID Gatineau was instrumental in acting as facilitator for the project. The Mayor of Gatineau, Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin who was in attendance stated that "The project will help increase the level of activity at the Aéroport exécutif de Gatineau-Ottawa and demonstrate that the city's annual investment in the airport has a positive economic impact for the region."

Jules Selwan, President and CEO, International Pilot Academy, confirmed that "International Pilot Academy already has more than a decade of experience in pilot training. This partnership gives students the opportunity for higher training standards within a post-secondary college institution recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur du Québec.

Michael Randall, Director General of Cégep Heritage College, added that "This is a great opportunity for our Cégep to contribute to the economy of the region, diversify our course offerings and enhance the College's international vocation."
