COLLÈGE DE L'ÎLE
The Collège launches mobile app to connect student community

May 8, 2018

Connecting the student community has never been easier, thanks to a new app launched on May 2.

"We surveyed our students over the last two years and the results were clear: they favour communication through mobile devices," said Collège de l'Île President, Donald DesRoches. "Two thirds of them have at least 15 apps on their phones and tablets and, they use these devices far more frequently than computers or laptops. Our mobile app is designed to benefit our student population."

The mobile app contains general information about the Collège and the programs it offers. Programs are described in full, along with tuition information, links to apply online, videos and conversation walls. It also provides direct access to student and staff email. An important feature is the option to send out urgent messages, in unforeseen closure situations, for example.

"Our goal is to connect our college students but also our language training students," added Mr. DesRoches. "We have over 250 students who attend French language training classes. These individuals seek opportunities to connect with other French speakers. The app will provide another means for them to do just that."

Between May 2 and May 16, the Collège is running s contest during which anyone downloading the app from the App Store or the Google Play Store, and creating a visitor account., will be entered to win $250 worth of gift cards. One winner will be drawn from eligible entries on May 30.
