CONESTOGA COLLEGE
Partnership provides students with MBA pathway

February 5, 2019

Eligible students in Conestoga's School of Business will now have the opportunity to earn a Master of Business Administration through a new partnership between the college and Niagara University. Agreements between the two institutions were recently signed by Conestoga President John Tibbits and Dr. Timothy Ireland, Niagara University Provost.

An agreement between Conestoga and Niagara University was signed on January 9 by Conestoga President John Tibbits and Dr. Timothy Ireland, Niagara University Provost, during a luncheon hosted by students in the School of Hospitality & Culinary Arts at the Waterloo campus.

Through the agreement, students in Conestoga's Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting, Audit and Information Technology (Honours) program and Bachelor of Business Administration - International Business Management (Honours) program will have a pathway to earn advanced standing in Niagara University's Master of Business Administration program.

"The students from Conestoga's School of Business are well-prepared for the rigors of our master of business administration degree program," said Dr. Ireland. "We are happy to facilitate their matriculation into Niagara University's AACSB-accredited College of Business Administration programs."

The agreement also establishes a pathway for eligible Conestoga faculty and staff to complete a PhD in Leadership and Policy at Niagara. Employees selected for the program will receive financial awards from Niagara to support tuition. The partnership has also established an opportunity for Niagara faculty to have access to Conestoga's Research Ethics Board (REB) in order to conduct research in Canada. REB reviews and approves proposals to conduct research involving human participants in accordance with government policies.

Founded in 1856 as the first Vincentian university established in the United States, Niagara prepares its students with the confidence, clarity, and purpose to take on positions of responsibility in the professions and in the broader society. Its colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, and Hospitality and Tourism Management offer programs at the baccalaureate, masters and doctoral level.

Conestoga currently offers 16 degree programs that have been developed in consultation with the region's industry leaders to ensure student skills are aligned with workforce demand upon graduation.

The Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting, Audit and Information Technology program, delivered at the honours level, provides a comprehensive education in accounting, audit, and information technology to produce graduates who possess the skills needed in the global business environment.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) - International Business Management program is designed to prepare students to manage international business endeavors and work in global companies. The goal is to provide graduates with the ability to bring people, processes, and technology together to achieve improved performance in domestic or international enterprises.
