On March 29, 2018, George Brown College was thrilled to celebrate as Building Opportunities for Life Today (B.O.L.T) Charitable Foundation renewed its support with another gift of $30,000 to support student scholarships.
B.O.L.T Charitable Foundation, established by Tridel, has been supporting students at George Brown College since 2009. Joanne Bin, the Executive Director at B.O.L.T noted the importance of giving back to students in the Construction and Engineering community. "We want students to know that their career goals are possible. We want to support their educational journey as it builds a foundation of skills and confidence that will propel them forward. We are there to watch and support students as they grow and develop, and for B.O.L.T this is what drives us."
The B.O.L.T Charitable Foundation Award was recognized at a cheque presentation on March 29th at George Brown's Casa Loma Campus. In attendance at the event from the B.O.L.T Charitable Foundation was Bin; President of Tridel Group, Leo DelZotto; Executive at Tridel Group, Andrea DelZotto; Advisory Board Member at Tridel group, Gian DelZotto; Special Projects at Tridel Group, Steve Upton; Coordinator at B.O.L.T. and Tridel Group, Stephanie Andreucci; and Manager of Community Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility, Amina Yassin. In attendance from George Brown College was President Anne Sado; President of the George Brown College Foundation, Cindy Gouveia; VP of Strategy and Innovation, Rick Huijbregts; Dean of the Centre for Construction and Engineering Technologies, Adel Esayed; Chair of the Angelo DelZotto School of Construction management, Clint Kissoon; Senior Development Officer, Krisztina Arany; and Manager at the Industry Liaison Office, JD Oxford.
"As we celebrate another generous gift from our friends at B.O.L.T Charitable Foundation, we can't help but look back to all of Tridel's generous support to George Brown College. George Brown's strength as an innovator in the construction and engineering industry is influenced by partners like Tridel. This year we recognize the 5th anniversary of the naming of the Angelo DelZotto School of Construction Management. We are extremely proud and honoured to have one of our schools named after this family," said Sado.
"We look forward to giving these awards out to students at the Centre for Construction and Engineering Technologies Awards Ceremony on April 26, 2018. As the College celebrates its 50th anniversary, we take special recognition of partners like Tridel and thank them for their continued support over the many years," said Gouveia.
