College Announces Appointment of Julie Beauchamp as the Dean, School of Business

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Julie Beauchamp as the Dean, School of Business, effective February 3, 2020.

Julie comes to us from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, where she has served in a number of roles since 1995. She began her career at Telfer as a professor, teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in human resources management, business communications and change management. Subsequently, Julie served as the Director of Undergraduate Programs where she was responsible for leading all aspects of the academic and student experience components of the School's undergraduate programs. Dr. Beauchamp has served as the Vice-Dean of the School since 2013.

In her role as Vice-Dean, Julie has provided strong leadership to the School's portfolio of undergraduate, graduate professional and executive programs. She oversaw the quality of the student experience and led the School's Student Services Center, Graduate Office and Career Center. Among the many accomplishments the School enjoyed under her guidance are the revitalization of the School's marketing and communication approach which resulted in substantial growth in social media engagement for the School, the launch of the Professional Development and Capital Markets Programs in collaboration with key external partners and alumni, the creation of a Global Mindset Committee to lead the School's International Strategy, and the development and launch of many innovative new academic programs.

In addition to her responsibilities as Vice-Dean, Julie also served as the School Secretary and as the Executive Director for the Center for Executive Leadership. As School Secretary, Julie was responsible for overseeing the governance of the School. As Executive Director, she provided strategic and operational leadership for this important revenue-generating business within the School.

Prior to joining Telfer, Julie earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from McGill University, a M.Sc. from École des Hautes Études Commerciales in Human Resources Management, and a B.Com. from the University of Ottawa.
