Graphic Design Showcase goes ahead despite COVID-19 Restrictions

The graduating students in Canadore College's Graphic Design Program are not letting the COVID-19 pandemic stand in their way of showing their work.  The College's annual graphic design showcase, which in other years has been a physical display on campus, has moved to a digital space. The virtual 2020 Grad Show has been launched on their YouTube channel and on their website at www.canadoregraphics.com.

"The senior grad showcase is a wonderful culmination of efforts," said Shirley Mondoux, Coordinator/Professor of the Graphic Design Program.  "It begins as a project in Professor Carol Bridle's 3^rd year Graphic Design Program Portfolio Preparation class. There are many details to organize, especially under these unique pandemic circumstances.  Graphic Design Program Technologist and Part-time Professor, Eryn Corbeil, assembled all the elements - as contributed by everyone - in a succinct, pleasing manner for our online launch. While we would have normally been able to have our showcase in an interactive venue, we all have come together and adapted in a way that makes us all proud."

Instead of in-person classes, the students, faculty and staff have been hard at work finishing their course and project work online.  The program team was not going to let the current COVID-19 restrictions stop them from introducing the student designers to the community.  Each of the students has compiled a creative portfolio of their designer skills, which they will use in their search for employment.

"We have all worked hard to make everything come together and we are extremely proud of our 2020 grads. They have all adapted seamlessly and risen above! Congratulations grads of 2020," Mondoux said.
