
The Dental Hygiene program recently held a virtual graduation celebration for its Class of 2020. Special guests included President Kathleen Lynch, Vice President, Academic Neil Cooke, Dean Shane Strickland, and representatives from local dental and dental hygiene organizations. Congratulations to the Dental Hygiene class of 2020!

Awarded to a graduate for outstanding achievement in preventive dental hygiene who exhibits a creative approach to oral hygiene instruction with the ability to individualize a client's home care program; applies behaviour modification teaching principles and effective communication skills - Hu Friedy Golden Scaler Award - John Binguis
Awarded to a graduate who has achieved academic excellence in clinical studies - Sue Raynak Pinnacle Award - Gaurav Ganjoo
Awarded to the student who has demonstrated professional growth through self-reflection, a sense of community, character and leadership throughout their course of study - Thunder Bay Dental Association Award - Lyndsi Wilson
Awarded to a graduate who has excelled in the combination of academic and clinical skills - Laurie Magill Community Health Award - Deavah Muanza, Bhageshree Daya
Awarded to the students who developed and implemented an original community health program that demonstrated an exemplary range of oral health care interventions. These interventions included, research of a specific target population, needs assessment, program implementation and evaluation in an inter professional collaboration within the community setting. - Vera Bodnarchuk Exceptional Student Award - Het Patel
Awarded to the Dental Hygiene student who demonstrates a competent and caring attitude with positivity, flexibility and accountability to their clients, society and their profession while displaying professional conduct and ethical behaviour.
