Parkland College is pleased to introduce the Youth Employability & Skills Strategy (YESS) program. The initiative is designed to help youth between 15 and 30 years of age train for their future and secure employment.
The program is a successor to the Skills Link program, and features similar training areas and target outcomes. Participants receive advanced Essential Skills training, life skills/soft skills, and employment readiness. Students are mentored throughout the program and given on-the-job training opportunities. They also acquire industry certifications including First Aid/CPR, Food Safety, Serve It Right, STEC Customer Service, Mental Health First Aid, and more.
The 2020 program runs from Sept. 14 to Dec. 4. Classes are scheduled Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Parkland College Main Campus in Yorkton.
