Leaders and educators from across the country and around the world will be gathering online from April 26 to 28 for Colleges and Institutes Canada's (CICan) annual Connection Conference. Like so many things this year, this will be an entirely virtual event. It will be an opportunity to exchange on this year's theme, Changing Narratives, which reflects how the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has forced post-secondary institutions to dramatically change the way they operate.
CICan's annual conference is one of the biggest national events in the Canadian post-secondary sector and the main gathering of community colleges, CEGEPS, institutes of technologies and polytechnics. Over 1100 delegates from institutions across the country, as well as many international partners, will be taking part.
The conference will also feature many distinguished guests and keynote speakers, including : Fabienne Goux-Baudiment of proGective, Gerd Leonhard of the Futures Agency, Ollivier Dyens of Building 21, Talia Talaga of Makwa Creative and Thomas Frey, futurist at the DaVinci Institute.
Over 50 live and pre-recorded presentations and workshops will be presented over the three-day event, focusing on six streams: Governing Excellence, Wiring for Student Success, Hacking Education, Embodying Sustainability, Driving Innovation, and Going Global.
