Daniel Laplante to head the CCNB-INNOV network

The CCNB is proud to announce the appointment of Daniel Laplante as director of the CCNB-INNOV network. He will join the ranks of the CCNB on June 21.

Employed by Pattison Signs as National Director of Business Development and Innovation since 2008, Mr. Laplante is a seasoned manager, well known in the business community in New Brunswick, Canada and elsewhere in North America as a leader in innovation, economic development and business development, particularly in the manufacturing sector.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and a Master of Business Administration from the Université de Moncton as well as a graduate degree in Economic Development from the Université de Sherbrooke.

"We are delighted to welcome Mr. Laplante to the CCNB-INNOV network. His vast experience, his versatility, his reputation and his in-depth knowledge of the business world will be undeniable assets to the expansion of our innovation network," said Cyrille Simard, Vice-President of Development at CCNB. He will lead the dynamic CCNB-INNOV team, which includes some thirty highly qualified employees in various fields of applied research and innovation," added Mr. Simard.

According to Mr. Laplante, innovation is a must and, in many respects, the central element of competitiveness in a knowledge-based economy. "It is therefore an honour for me to join the CCNB-INNOV network team and to participate in the development of innovative projects with businesses in New Brunswick and elsewhere in order to contribute to the advancement of our province in terms of innovation and to strengthen its economic development capacity," said Mr. Laplante.

For several years, CCNB-INNOV has been recognized among the hundred or so colleges in Canada active in applied research, including several times in the "Top 25". A key resource for the province's SMEs, the CCNB-INNOV team meets the innovation needs of businesses and communities (applied research, technical assistance, information dissemination and specialized training). The network includes three poles of expertise: Advanced Manufacturing; Advanced Materials; and Agriculture-Bioprocessing-Beverage-Environment and offers specialized services in a dozen languages thanks to a multicultural team well connected to global realities.
