LAMBTON COLLEGE
Lambton College to Require Proof of Vaccination for Campus Access

August 18, 2021

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, so too does Lambton College's response to the global health crisis. To help protect the health and safety of students, employees and the wider Sarnia-Lambton community, Lambton College will be making COVID-19 vaccinations a condition for all students, employees and guests to be on campus beginning August 31, 2021.

"Throughout the pandemic, we've had two main priorities at Lambton College, to protect the health and safety of our College and surrounding community, and provide students with the richest possible college experience," said Rob Kardas, President & CEO, Lambton College. "This vaccine mandate allows us to continue to do both to the best of our ability."

To access the Lambton College campus, students, faculty, staff, contractors and guests will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status. A first dose is required by August 31, 2021 and a second by October 11, 2021. Vaccines authorized for use by Health Canada will be accepted.

To support students and employees in becoming fully vaccinated, Lambton College will be hosting vaccine clinics on campus in collaboration with Lambton Public Health in September.

The College respects that some individuals cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons or other protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code. Exemptions will be allowed and a documentation process is currently being put in place for these considerations.

"It's been a long eighteen months of online learning and remote working," said Kardas. "I'm proud of the way Lambton College has innovated and adapted to succeed, but it's time now for our employees, students and partners to light up our campus once again. By making vaccinations mandatory for campus access, we can ensure the safest possible return to in-person learning and working, athletics and recreation, and life at Lambton."
