ASSINIBOINE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Vaccine mandate confirmed by the College's board of governors

September 2, 2021

Assiniboine Community College's board of governors has adopted a new policy that brings a vaccination mandate into effect for this academic year. Two weeks ago, the college announced its intention to bring the issue forward to its board.

The COVID-19 Campus Access Policy puts in place rules and requirements for students, staff and others accessing Assiniboine's multiple campuses to prove they are fully vaccinated or undergo routine testing to show a negative COVID-19 test.

Individuals accessing the college's four campuses must have completed their full regimen of vaccines by October 29, 2021.

Further details about how students, staff and others will supply proof of their vaccination status or undergo and provide required testing will be forthcoming and communicated directly to those impacted. Frequently asked questions will continue to be updated on our website at assiniboine.net/vaccinemandate.

The college is hosting on-campus vaccination clinics in Brandon and Dauphin in partnership with Prairie Mountain Health beginning the week of September 13.

Assiniboine was the first post-secondary institution to introduce mask requirements on campuses last summer and continues to uphold this requirement through the fall term into the foreseeable future.

This past May, Assiniboine announced its Armed for Fall contest, encouraging students to get vaccinated ahead of the fall term. The college has committed more than $8,500 in prizes, including a year's worth of tuition for two lucky winners.
