Kayla Levesque, a Business Administration professor at Cambrian College, was recently named a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountant of Ontario, for her exceptional contributions to her profession and her community.
A Business Administration professor at Cambrian College has received the highest honour given by the association that represents her profession.
Kayla Levesque has been named a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (FCPA).
"I am honoured to be bestowed the highest distinction in my profession," says Kayla Levesque. "This has been a lifetime professional goal and the biggest accomplishment in my professional career. Obtaining your FCPA is not an easy task, in fact, only two per cent of the CPA population are FCPAs. Being a part of an exceptional group of FCPAs is gratifying and inspires me to continue to excel in my career, help others and promote my profession."
The FCPA designation is conferred on members who demonstrate outstanding service to the profession and the community. As a professor and CPA in private practice, Kayla has assisted with information sessions, financial literacy events and income tax preparation clinics. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Kayla has been a regional coordinator for CPA Ontario's Accounting for Bravery initiative, which helps frontline workers complete their tax returns. She also volunteers for St. Peter's United Church Syrian Refugee Sponsorship Committee, Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Sudbury and United Way.
"This is fantastic news and we are very proud to have Kayla on our team here at Cambrian," says Cambrian College President, Bill Best. "She is a passionate professor and a leader both here at the college and in our community. The whole Cambrian community congratulates you, Kayla."
Kayla is one of the many excellent faculty teaching in Cambrian's School of Business and Information Technology. Cambrian College offers a wide range of business programs, including graduate certificate for those who already have a postsecondary diploma or degree.
