Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) has announced that its Winter Term will now begin online in light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak.
While the Winter Term will start as scheduled, all on campus learning and service delivery will be offered remotely until at least January 21, 2022.
NSCC President Don Bureaux says, "There is deep concern about our current situation as a province. We want to be part of the solution that ends this outbreak and puts us back on track for a safe return to the activities we enjoy including learning in-person." Winter Term Changes
- All on campus learning and service delivery will move to online until January 21, 2022. We will reassess early in January whether that date needs to be extended.
- Winter Term will begin on Thursday, January 6, 2022 (students) and Tuesday, January 4, 2022 (employees).
- Most classes will start the week of Monday, January 10, 2022.
- Orientation for Winter Term programs will be held online.
- Residences will open for Winter term as planned.
In a President's Update on December 16, 2021, the final day of the Fall Term, President Bureaux asked all employees who can work remotely to begin doing so and all student activity to move online where possible. The College also announced that all NSCC campuses and sites will close on Thursday, December 23, 2021, until the College reopens in January.
NSCC will continue to be guided by Public Health directives as the response to the pandemic evolves.
