After a two-year hiatus, Carlton Trail College hosted its student awards celebration in-person on December 6, 2022, handing out 43 scholarships and bursaries totaling $41,000. Through its student awards program, Carlton Trail College continues its commitment to opening doors to post-secondary education and training for Saskatchewan learners.
"A Carlton Trail College education equips you for life," said Amy Yeager, Carlton Trail College President and CEO. "Beyond the financial support that these funds provide, our awards also demonstrate investment into Saskatchewan's future leaders and workforce by our institution and our many donors."
Scholarships and bursaries are funded through donations from individuals, businesses, agencies and organizations. Donations raised by post-secondary institutions in the province are matched by the government-funded Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship (SIOS) program.
Student award recipients are determined through a combination of entrance criteria, academic achievements, the students' involvement in school and the community, as well as financial need.
