The Board has established a pilot program to support shared school community initiatives for 2022-23. Clearview Public schools has allocated $100,000 in one-time dollars which will be available for community projects that are either on, or in, school areas, or are used by students towards their learning success.
Clearview recognizes the work done by communities and families to ensure that viable community facilities and outdoor spaces are available, both for the community at large and for the students in our division. Such spaces are an integral part of both rural areas and the learning success of students.
"The community initiative support program is an exciting opportunity to partner with our communities to enhance our outdoor education and recreational spaces," says Guy Neitz, Clearview Board Chair. "Together we can maximize resources to develop and build significant projects that will benefit Clearview students and families."
Financial support for proposals will be provided by Clearview Public Schools on a partnership basis with each single project qualifying for no more than $25,000. Each proposal must be in partnership with schools and said principal(s) must be in support of the application. The deadline for applying is March 31, 2023 with project completion slated on or before August 21, 2024. Interested societies, community groups or schools can submit their request by e-mail to clearview@clearview.ab.ca . Applications must include a budget, estimation of volunteer hours needed, amount of funds requested, merits of the proposal, available letters of reference, expected timeline and contact information. Additional eligibility and application details can be found here: Program Funding
The Board is anticipating a high level of interest and uptake for this pilot program. Proposals with the largest benefit to Clearview students and possessing the greatest likelihood to succeed, as determined by the Board, will be given preference. Trustees will determine any future years' dollars based on the success of this year's program.
