​New Vice-Principal at Walter Aseltine School

A familiar and friendly face will be the new Vice-Principal at Walter Aseltine School (WAS) in Rosetown. Steve Adnam, currently the Grade 6 teacher at WAS, will take over the position this fall.

"It is great that Steve is stepping into this position," said Sun West Director of Education Vicki Moore, "he has been an enthusiastic leader in most of Sun West's innovative learning initiatives in the last several years, and now as an administrator, he will be able to play an even larger role.

Originally from Rosetown, Mr. Adnam received his Bachelor of Education with Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011. He also received a Post-Degree Certificate in Special Education from the University of Saskatchewan in 2016 and started a Post-graduate degree in Educational Technology and Design at the University of Saskatchewan in 2021.

Mr. Adnam interned at WAS in the Grade 6 classroom in 2011 and started his teaching career as a Grades 1-3 teacher at Harris Tessier Central School in 2012. In 2013, he became the Student Support Teacher/21 ^st Century Educator at Harris-Tessier, while also being the Kindergarten-Grade 3 teacher. In 2014, he returned to WAS to become the Grade 6 teacher, a position he has held since then.

"I am excited for the new opportunity of becoming the Vice-Principal at WAS" stated Mr. Adnam, "I have enjoyed my time teaching at WAS and am excited for a new challenge moving forward. Rosetown is a great community and I look forward to working along side the staff, students, families, and community members." He added.
