PEMBINA TRAILS SCHOOL DIVISION
Pembina Trails School Division Elects Tim Johnson as Chair and Cindy Nachtigall as Vice-Chair

September 22, 2023

On Thursday, September 14, 2023, the Pembina Trails School Division Board of Trustees held their first board meeting of 2023/2024.

At the meeting the trustees held a vote and re-elected Tim Johnson and Cindy Nachtigall to positions of Board Chair and Board Vice-Chair, respectively.

Tim Johnson represents Ward 2 and is a veteran school trustee who believes an effective trustee is someone who has demonstrated, through past and current actions, a genuine interest in working to enhance school services within the community.  Tim works with all residents to make sure schools in Pembina Trails offer the programs that gives our students the best chance of success.

He has been on the Pembina Trails board since 2006 and in addition to being Board Chair, Tim is the Co-Chair of the Board/Association Council on Education.

"It is a genuine pleasure to work with my Board colleagues and Senior Administration Team that are truly committed to doing the best for our community and for the students and staff of Pembina Trails," says Johnson.  "I'm looking forward to the year ahead, as we continue to welcome students to our new schools in South Winnipeg and continue our work to reorganize the school grade configurations in Ward 2 and 3."

Cindy Nachtigall has represented Ward 3 since being elected to the Pembina Trails Board of Trustees in 2018. Her twenty-plus years of experience with educational policy development, fiscal responsibility and capital planning make her a valuable asset to the Board.

"I am truly honored to serve such a vibrant community, division and board. I am looking forward to an inspiring and historical year supporting educational excellence!" said Cindy after her re-election.

In addition to her role as Board Vice-Chair, Cindy is the Chair of the Human Resources and Policy Committee, is Co-Chair of the Board/Association Council on Education, she sits on the Pembina Trails Education Support Fund Inc. committee and is a liaison to the Fort Garry Community Network.
