CECCE Inaugurates École élémentaire catholique des Deux-Rivières in Arnprior

On October 12, the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) held the grand opening of École élémentaire catholique des Deux-Rivières, which opened its doors to a brand-new cohort of JK to grade 6 students on August 29th. 

This special day was marked by the presence of John Yakabuski, MPP for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, Lisa McGee, Mayor of Arnprior, Tom Sidney, Mayor of Renfrew, and Anne Giardini, Councillor for the County of Renfrew.

Attendees took in performances by talented students, a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the school's modern amenities and inspiring spaces.

"We are determined to build schools and expansions faster, part of our commitment to modernize schools in fast growing communities," said Stephen Lecce, Minister of Education. "We are proud to deliver a new, state-of-the-art École élémentaire catholique des Deux-Rivières for Arnprior families, along with increasing funding, staffing and a back-to-basics focus on reading, writing and math skills to help ensure students graduate with confidence that they can succeed in good-paying careers." 

CECCE Chair Johanne Lacombe said, "The grand opening of École élémentaire catholique des Deux-Rivières is a major milestone in the history of the CECCE and Arnprior. By providing high-quality francophone education in a vibrant, inclusive environment, we are creating the best possible conditions for students to thrive."

CECCE trustee Daniel Levasseur added, "This school represents our determination to make a long-lasting difference in children's lives and to strengthen our relationship with francophones and francophiles in Arnprior and with local community partners."

"I am grateful to families, partners and elected officials at all levels who helped transform our vision for this important new school into a reality. I am also grateful to the Government of Ontario for its financial support. I am proud to say that its engagement and commitment to promoting educational excellence are transforming our students' lives and making our communities better places to live," added CECCE Director of Education Marc Bertrand.
