Hanover School Division has been advised that the Educational Assistants represented by Local 306 of the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC) will be engaging in strike action commencing November 1, 2023. As such, it is expected that Educational Assistants will withdraw their services from the Division tomorrow.
While we anticipate that the strike action will disrupt services, the Division's top priority remains the well-being and education of our students. We have taken proactive measures to ensure their needs are met during this period to the best of our ability. Communication is of utmost importance, and we will endeavour to provide up-to-date information throughout the process.
The Hanover School Division Board of Trustees remain willing to engage in further negotiations to reach a mutually acceptable resolution.
