We are delighted to share this news. École des Grands-Vents won the prestigious Welcoming, Inclusive and Safe Schools Grant awarded by the Ministry of Education, thanks to its emotional well-being room.
A scholarship that commends the efforts of our school
The provincial government provides a sum of $12,500 for these scholarships, distributed among 32 schools. These grants aim to recognize schools that create safe, welcoming and inclusive places to learn. Last year the École Rocher-du-Nord received this scholarship and this year it is the turn of the École des Grands-Vents which receives $700 for its beautiful project.
An inspiring transformation
There was already a room that needed to be renovated. The Director of the École des Grands-Vents, Céline Monnier, therefore decided to enhance it and make it a truly welcoming space for students who need it. Thanks to the valuable involvement of Ms. Luce, the School was able to order new furniture and equipment that engages all of the students' senses. The room was also repainted and a bubble wall installed.
The enthusiasm of the students
Since the renovation, we have seen palpable enthusiasm among our students. The Director is delighted: "The students are fascinated by the bubbles, it captures their attention. We have had a lot of positive feedback from the students who really want to go there."
An ongoing commitment
The School continues to work on the project by adding manipulative equipment and some furniture to further perfect it. This victory demonstrates our continued commitment to a caring, inclusive and safe educational environment. We look forward to seeing how this renovated space will enrich our students' educational experience.
