School Staff Appreciation Week, February 12-16, recognizes the pivotal role that staff in the education system play in children's lives.
"I would like to thank all school staff for their commitment to bettering the lives of Island students. By creating a welcoming and safe environment to learn, school staff help to ensure our youth succeed. I encourage everyone to show their appreciation for this incredibly dedicated group of people not just this week, but throughout the year."
- Education and Early Years Minister Natalie Jameson
There are more than 4,000 staff working in 56 English public schools and six French schools across the Island.
"School staff positively impact Island students daily. The smiling bus driver, the school administration, the friendly custodian, compassionate educational assistants, classroom teachers, and so many others, all play a huge role in how students feel about their schooling experience," says Dionne Tuplin, President of the PEI Home and School Federation. "It truly takes a village to raise our children. Thank you to all for your hard work and dedication."
