On February 24th, 2024, we celebrated the 41st Annual Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board System Science and Engineering Fair. The Saturday (March 23) event was the culmination of months of hard work, curiosity, and innovation by students in Grades 4 to 8.
Each year, the HWCDSB System Science and Engineering Fair serves as a testament to the incredible potential of young minds when given the opportunity to explore, question, and experiment. On this day, we witness the fruits of the students' labour, the embodiment of countless hours spent in the pursuit of knowledge and discovery. We congratulate all the students that participated in this event.
Congratulations goes to the following students for winning the Environmental Award: Neven Davila (St. Clare of Assisi), Alin Guy (St. Clare of Assisi), Naomi Davila (St. Clare of Assisi), Giordana Belardi (Immaculate Heart of Mary CES), Apollo Govender (St. Gabriel CES), and Leo Kuzamanovic (St. Gabriel CES).
An honourable mention is given to Adriana Marchese and Grace Parkes (St. Thomas CES) for receiving the highest Junior average.
Finally, each year the top intermediate project receives the Bay Area Science and Engineering Award (BASEF). This year, the award was presented to Gabriel Di Nicola and Luca Piccoli (Our Lady of Peace) as presented in the photo.
We thank the committee, all staff, and volunteers for making this day a huge success. We thank the parents for their support and dedication. Once again, we thank all participants for their dedication and hard work while creating and presenting their projects. We look forward to seeing all projects at next year's event.
