Each year, the Educator Champion Award from Agriculture in the Classroom (Manitoba) is presented to a Manitoba teacher who demonstrates excellence and leadership in agriculture education.
AITCMB Executive Director, Katharine Cherewyk (left), Jessica Canning (middle) and Education Specialist, Jessica Primer (right). This year, Jessica Canning, from Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School, has been chosen as the 2023-2024 recipient of the Educator Champion Award.
"You inspire your students and your colleagues to understand where their food comes from, who grows it and the opportunities that exist for them in your community. You have gained admiration and respect from both your colleagues and the agriculture community because of your efforts."
