On May 23, Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School partnered with Muskoka Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to take part in an exercise to teach students the importance of safe, sober, attentive driving.
Grade 11 and 12 students were invited to the emergency exercise, where they watched a mock multi-car collision with victims, played by the school's drama students. Students saw the scenario unfold from start to finish - beginning with EMS arriving on scene with sirens and lights flashing, to each first responder performing their duties in the scenario.
After the exercise was completed, all students were invited to the Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre to hear a debrief from each service about their role in the scenario and answered any questions from students.
Thank you Bracebridge Fire, Muskoka Paramedics, Ontario Provincial Police Central Region, and the local funeral home for all playing a part in the exercise and educating our students about safe driving!
