HALTON DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
Allison Ippolito appointed as HDSB Superintendent of Human Resources

August 6, 2024

The Halton District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Allison Ippolito as Superintendent of Human Resources effective Aug. 26, 2024. This vacancy was created by the resignation of Superintendent of Human Resources Sari Taha. Allison was the successful candidate in the Superintendent hiring process that took place earlier this month.

After 22 years with the HDSB, Sari Taha has announced his resignation to join the School Boards' Co-operative Inc. as Chief Executive Officer. Sari joined the HDSB's Information Services Department in 2002, later transitioning to Human Resources in 2007. Over the years, he advanced through various roles, ultimately becoming Superintendent in 2020.

"Known for his compassion and unwavering commitment to human rights and the public service values of professionalism, integrity and impartiality, Sari's presence will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure to work alongside him," says Curtis Ennis, Director of Education for the HDSB. "During his time with the HDSB, Sari has played a key role in developing successful partnerships with unions, fostering a supportive and respectful work environment and enhancing employee mental health and well-being. We wish him all the best in his new position and know he will continue to excel."

Allison Ippolito joined the HDSB 16 years ago as a workplace safety assistant and has progressed through various roles at the board and school level. She now joins the administrative team following four years as General Manager of Human Resources. Throughout her career, Allison has demonstrated ongoing support to staff, students and families, embracing a collaborative approach to fostering partnerships across the system and a climate of respect and support with union partners. She has been instrumental in launching the HDSB's Staff Census, bridging gaps, removing barriers and meeting system needs related to recruitment and retention, professional development and wellness.

"Having been an integral part of the HDSB's Human Resources department for more than a decade, Allison will be a remarkable addition to the senior administration team," says Ennis. "Her strategic insight and collaborative approach, system-level knowledge of the HDSB and passion for staff health and well-being will continue to grow a positive and supportive work environment for all employees."
