Wild Rose School Division and the Central Alberta Association of Municipal and School Employees (CAAMSE) signed their collective agreement which is effective September 1, 2024 to Aug 31, 2028. This agreement was one of the first in the province to be ratified, which is a reflection on the good working relationship WRSD and CAAMSE enjoys.
Bargaining started last spring, and was completed at the beginning of this school year. The committee worked diligently to reach an agreement that met the needs of everyone, and it was evident during bargaining that both groups had a desire to work together for the best outcomes. The new agreement will see a 10% wage increase over four years.
CAAMSE President, Tammy Schoenthal says ""The Caamse Executive Board along with our negotiations team are pleased with the wage increases and the harmonious negotiations while continuing to work together for our members in our school division. CAAMSE is a unique union, though small; working on big issues together with WRSD as our rural schools have so many valued support staff."
