SASKATOON PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Cheer Crates going to 750 SPS families in time for Thanksgiving

October 11, 2024
The Saskatoon Public Schools Foundation is delivering Cheer Crates to SPS families experiencing food insecurity in time for Thanksgiving. When schools close, many of our students are left without the valuable supports they receive during the school day - such as those provided through school food programs.

In addition to some yummy food items, the crates include activities, books, toques, and toiletries. The crates are made possible thanks to the financial support of Canpotex and the assistance of about 50 community volunteers.

Zeba Ahmad, CEO of the Foundation and also Honorary Colonel for the 38th Combat Engineer Regiment (Army Reserve), secured space at the Sgt. Hugh Cairns V.C. Armoury for the assembly of crates.
