SIMCOE MUSKOKA CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
SMCDSB Launches Online Bullying Reporting Tool

October 17, 2024

As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring our schools are safe places for our students, we have developed an online bullying reporting tool. This form is available to students and their parents/guardians to report a bullying incident either as victims, witnesses, or alleged perpetrators.

What is bullying?

Bullying is when someone repeatedly tries to hurt or humiliate another person on purpose (bullyingcanada.ca). Bullying can be physical (ex. hitting, kicking, shoving), verbal (ex. threats, name-calling), social (ex. gossiping, spreading rumours, exclusions), of virtual / cyber (ex. Using social media to threaten, embarrass, or cause hurt).

Please be aware that the online bullying reporting tool:

  • Is for non-emergency reporting only

  • Is not monitored 24 hours a day

  • Collects identifying/personal information

If you need to report an incident of bullying at your school, the Online Bullying Reporting Tool can be found on all school websites as well as the Board website.
