This strategic planning is the result of a fruitful collaboration with school communities and a shared commitment towards French-language Catholic education. A consultative process was implemented to mobilise the participation of students, staff, partners and members of the community. Through consultation sessions, surveys and focus groups, CSC Nouvelon listened to varied opinions, needs and suggestions to better identify the priority areas to be considered. Nearly 1 500 stakeholders, including more than 360 students from grade 6 to grade 12, took part in this collaborative exercise with the purpose of building the Board's vision for the future.
This new plan stems from the mission statement "Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon collaborates with its entire community to offer students a quality French-language Catholic education, welcoming them in the way of Jesus" (Le Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon collabore avec toute sa communauté pour offrir à ses élèves une éducation catholique de langue française de qualité, les accueillant à la manière de Jésus). It also focuses on four strategic axes: a culture of innovation and forward-thinking, enhanced success for students and staff members, a united and diversified community, and a committed and active governance. These fundamental areas are intended to contribute to the fulfillment of the Board's vision: Proud francophone and Catholic students equipped for the future by innovative and well-rounded staff members (Des élèves fièrement francophones et catholiques outillés pour l'avenir par un personnel innovant et épanoui).
"Through this strategic plan, we renew our responsibility towards the future of French-language Catholic education and the vitality of our dynamic school communities. With the support of students, staff members, trustees, partners and our communities, we have developed a plan which reflects collaboration, commitment and innovation to better equip the children entrusted in us," stated Mrs. Suzanne Salituri, CSC Nouvelon Chair.
"Members of our school communities, including our students, played a key role in building a common vision and aligning the Board's next strategic orientations. We are proud to live up to the expectations and put forth a comprehensive plan which will enable students and staff members to thrive in a francophone, Catholic, inclusive and innovative learning environment. We thank PGF Consultants Inc., and their associates for accompanying us during this important process," added Mr. Paul Henry, Director of Education and Secretary-Treasurer.
