The CCVI Spartans are the Southern Bowl OFSAA Champions! They finished the regular season with a winning record of 5-0. Each game was determined with commanding victories: GCVI (51 - 0), Our Lady of Lourdes (48 - 0), St. James (43 - 7), John F. Ross CVI (35-7), and Bishop Mac (38-21). To start the D-10 playoffs, the Spartans played the Ross Royals winning (31 - 3). CCVI then went on to win their second District 10 title in three years with a decisive win over Bishop Mac (45-3).
As D-10 Champions, the Spartans went on to play St. Mary's from Owen Sound in the CWOSSSA quarter finals with a 38 - 0 victory. Next, the team moved on to the semi-finals against the District 8 Champions, Resurrection C.S.S. The Spartans won with a (56 - 0) victory. Finally, CCVI faced the formidable Jacob Hespler Hawks, punching their ticket to OFSSA with a 40-19 victory. Playing Hamilton's Westmount S.S. In the Southern Bowl, the team finished the season with a decisive 35-7 win to become first-time OFSAA champions.
This has been a historic season for CCVI. They became the first CCVI team to win the CWOSSA region and only the second team from District 10 to make it to OFSSA. Not only did they make it to OFSAA, but they also came away with a victory and are now the first District 10 team to win OFSAA!
