WATERLOO REGION DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
WRDSB Inaugural Black Brilliance Pathways to Post-Secondary Fair

December 13, 2024

The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) Education Centre was abuzz with student excitement as hundreds of African, Caribbean and Black students in Grades 10 to 12, who alongside their families and caregivers, came together to learn more about post-secondary pathways at the inaugural Black Brilliance Pathways to Post-Secondary Fair organized by the Indigenous, Equity and Human Rights Department.

The fair featured colleges, universities and other post-secondary institutions showcasing academic programs, admissions procedures and career pathways.

Representatives from the University of Waterloo, Conestoga College, Queen's University, Western University, Trent University, OCAD University, Sheridan College, Seneca College, Humber College and more shared educational opportunities for students.

The Black Brilliance Pathways to Post-Secondary Fair builds on our foundational efforts to support all students in finding success on their chosen post-secondary pathways, from the opportunities available in the WRDSB, including:

We are grateful for every staff member, student, family member and caregiver who joined us, and all of those dedicated folks who made this event possible for the students we serve. Together, we are working to create a public education system where all students are able to learn, grow and rise to their full potential.
