UPPER GRAND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
Sir Isaac Brock PS students lead record-breaking food donation to support local families

December 16, 2024

In December 2024, the students of Sir Isaac Brock Public School made history with the largest food donation ever delivered to the Keep Kids Fed At Home program. Led by Grade 7 student Vinu P.

Vinu, along with her friends Ayat, Lana, Harper, and Everleigh, spearheaded their third and most successful food drive yet. With the unwavering support of teachers Ms. Staveley and Madame Nolan, and the encouragement of parents/guardians and staff, the team collected an astounding 3,081 food items. The donations filled five carloads, leaving a significant impact on local families in need this winter.

The Keep Kids Fed team worked diligently to sort the mountain of donations. While most of the items went into their kid-friendly weekend food bags, larger and heavier items were shared with Hope House's free food market, ensuring the community-wide benefit of this incredible effort.

The UGDSB extends a heartfelt thank-you to the students, families, and school staff who made this record-breaking initiative possible. The initiative brought the school community together in a heartwarming display of generosity and compassion.

Congratulations to Vinu and the entire Sir Isaac Brock PS team for leading the way in making a difference.
