The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is committed to ensuring that identity and social location no longer predict outcomes.
We work together with students, staff, families and caregivers, and communities to support all students to reach their full potential.
WRDSB creates a Board Improvement and Equity Plan (BIEP) each school year to guide our work and outlines measurable indicators, strategies and examples of actions to support student achievement and well-being.
2024-25 Board Improvement and Equity Plan (BIEP)
Each district school board is expected to develop a Student Achievement Plan to support the implementation and achievement of the strategic plan. The WRDSB has incorporated the Student Achievement Plan requirements within the BIEP.
Guided by the strategic directions of the WRDSB Strategic Plan and priorities identified by the Ministry of Education, we developed our 2024-25 Board Improvement and Equity Plan (BIEP).
About the Board Improvement and Equity Plan
The WRDSB BIEP has performance indicators in four key areas:
- Achievement
- Pathways and transitions
- Sovereignty, human rights and equity
- Mental health, well-being and engagement
We know the many ways WRDSB staff support student success and well-being go beyond what is captured in the BIEP, including:
- Helping support students to meet their academic goals;
- Fostering safe and inclusive learning and work environments;
- Preparing students for future pathways.
Sharing Outcomes
We are committed to sharing the outcomes of our efforts with you in late 2025. What we learn continues to inform decision-making and helps us to further refine our strategies and actions to better support all students.
Together, we will work in partnership to support student achievement and well-being.
