Niagara Catholic held its annual Technology Skills Competition February 24-26, and March 4.
On February 24, the Culinary and Baking events took place at Niagara College in Niagara-on-the-Lake, while the Auto Service Technician and Welding events took place at Niagara College's Welland campus.
The action shifted to Saint Michael Catholic High School and Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School on February 25. Saint Michael hosted the 2D and 3D Animation and Graphic Design competitions, and Holy Cross hosted VEX Robotics.
On February 26, the Fresh Beats and Photography events were held at Lakeshore Catholic High School, while Saint Paul Catholic High School hosted students participating in Architectural Technology Design, Coding, and TV and Video Production.
On March 4, the remaining 10 events: Aesthetics, Brick Masonry, Cabinet Making, Carpentry (Team of 2), Electrical Installations, Hairstyling, Heating Systems Tech (HVAC), Home Build, Horticulture and Landscaping, and Plumbing took place at Seaway Mall, open to the public to view. The awards were presented at Seaway Mall March 6.
Approximately 250 students participated in the Skills event over the four days.
Congratulations to our first-place finishers - the majority will compete at Skills Ontario in the spring.
