A new era for Catholic education in Waskatenau is on the horizon as the long-awaited Holy Family Catholic School moves to the tender stage, marking a major milestone in bringing a faith-centered, innovative learning community to students and families.
More than just a new building, this school represents a commitment to academic excellence and spiritual growth in a supportive environ- ment. The facility will also strengthen the Waskatenau community with a shared library and modern learning spaces, including a larger gymnasium, Career and Technology Studies (CTS) lab, Food Studies room, Science Lab, and Music room.
"This milestone speaks to the power of collaboration and dedication," stated Anna Brockhoff, Board Chair of Lakeland Catholic School Division. "We are grateful for the unwavering support from our government partners, community members, and families who share our vision for Catholic education for Lakeland Catholic."
"Catholic education provides students with the foundation to grow in knowledge, faith, and service," remarked Superintendent Sheldon Germain. "This new school will create an environment where students can excel academ- ically while developing values and leadership skills that will guide them throughout their lives."
"Our students already receive incredible instruction, and soon, they will do so in a space that truly honors them. It is very exciting!" added Principal Farrah Ollikka.
With the tendering process now underway, construction is set to begin this spring. Lakeland Catholic looks forward to welcoming students into a state-of-the-art school designed to serve generations to come.
Lakeland Catholic extends sincere gratitude to the community, government partners, and all those who have championed this project. Together, we are building a brighter future for our students.
